Key Features

Automatic Paper ClampAutomatic Paper Clamp:
One of our favorite features on the Dahle 508 is the automatic paper clamp. The clamp is pushed down by the cutting head as you slide it up or down the board. The design allows for the paper to be tightly held in place with absolutely no slippage.

Kim used this trimmer to cut the directions sheet for her wedding invitations. If you’ve ever been involved in a wedding, or watched one of those “Brides are Crazy Control Freaks” shows, then you know that to say brides are particular is a gross understatement. They know what they want, and they want it to be perfect! Kim wanted a professional look, with a DIY price. The pre-printed measurements & guides on the board allowed her to line up her sheets exactly where she needed them and the clamp held her specialty paper firmly in place. The cut was clean and precise and she couldn’t have been happier with the way her directions turned out.

Self Sharpening BladeSelf Sharpening Blade:
The blade on the Dahle 508 self sharpens with every use and provides a beautifully clean cut. The only time we have experienced an issue with the cut being less than perfect, was when we tried to cut too many sheets at one time. This trimmer will cut 7 sheets of 20lb paper without issue. If you are cutting thicker material or too many sheets, you may notice that it takes more effort to make the cut. You also may notice that cut isn’t as smooth or burr-free as it usually is. This just means you are cutting too much at once.

Is it for you?

Keep this in mind

Considerations

With a relatively small sheet capacity and 18 inch cut maximum, the 508 is not for professional use or large jobs. If you need something for graphic design, photographs, or for a print shops you may want to consider something in the Dahle Professional Series. Professional photographers, print & copy centers, and framers may want to look at the Dahle Premium Series for their heavy duty jobs.
