I reached out to PATH San Diego and signed up to prepare and serve a meal at their kitchen. I then recruited my husband and 8 other friends to help. Part of the fun is that we were able to prepare our own menu! We decided on baked ziti, roasted vegetables, fruit salad, Texas toast and brownies and cookies for dessert.
We each signed up for the various ingredients needed for the meal and we all met at PATH 's kitchen to get to cooking. Dinner is served restaurant style to each person so once service started, some of were plating the meals and some were serving. We had a big crowd and served about 100 people! Overall this was an awesome experience and I look forward to volunteering with PATH again!

PATH is a family of agencies working together to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. We strive to do this by prioritizing housing while providing customized supportive services for people in need. Our agencies each address homelessness in a different way (supportive services, permanent housing development, support for homeless families, and community engagement) all of which ultimately help the people we serve make it home.
